BIM–CAFM integration

BIM–CAFM integration

We build the professional bridge that is often missing between BIM design models and the CAFM database – and make sure this link remains reliable over time.

The process step by step

From aligning data structures to a lasting connection

1

Aligning data structures

We compare the asset classification on the BIM side with the asset register on the CAFM side and establish a common identification logic that unambiguously refers to the same element in both systems.

2

Mapping and data interface plan

We define which data fields should flow between the two systems, in which format (e.g. IFC, COBie or a custom export) and how often.

3

Pilot implementation

We run a controlled, smaller-scale test on one part of a building or a limited data set, so that real data quality and the defined process can be verified before full roll-out.

4

Validation and fine-tuning

We review the pilot results and identify errors and points for improvement before extending the solution to the entire property portfolio.

5

Go-live

We extend the validated integration to the entire portfolio and define who is responsible for what in day-to-day operations.

6

Ongoing maintenance and change management

We make sure the data link stays up to date when new building sections are added, refurbishments take place or systems are replaced – so integration is not a one-off project but a lasting, working solution.

Frequently asked questions

Good to know before you start

Does it make sense if we have a CAFM system but no BIM model?

Yes – in that case we first assess what BIM data is available or can be obtained, and adjust the pace of integration accordingly.

Which BIM and CAFM software do you work with?

We work independently of any software vendor – the goal is always to connect the systems your organisation already uses or has selected.
